The snow leopard can leap 30 feet from standstill?

The cheetah is the only cat that cannot retract its claws.

The roar of a tiger can be heard more than a mile away.

The Amur tiger is the largest cat in the world. From head to tail, it can grow up to thirteen feet long.

The only cats that roar are the lion, tiger, leopard and jaguar.

i bet its a HUGE food bill!!! i wouldn't want to run in to a cat that size anywhere. i also wouldn't like being near a hungry cat that can jump 30 feet lol!

they can bark like a dog??? thats awesome!

this would be funny....

door to door salesperson comes to the door. starts to sell stuff. then hears barking and starts to back away. then this big cat comes around a corner and is "barking" like a dog. lol i would love to see the expression on the salespersons face if this ever happened!!

I can just see that now Smile If I had a barking cougar I could take down my "no solicitors" sign and sit back to enjoy the fun!

The only part of it I would not want to be responsible for is the dry cleaning bill for the solicitor's pants after he/she was greeted by the barking cougar!

Lol!

The cougars I have worked with make a sound that is a hybrid between a meow and a weak bark. Kind of a short 'hoooooouuuw'. They will 'talk' to you this way, and you can talk back-- it is an easy sound to make once you have heard it. And can they purr! Other than that, they tend to be very quiet cats.

ooh so its not a clear bark like a dog? well that takes away all the fun Sad i bet solicitors would still get scared if they ran in to a cougar, barking or not lol.

Timba can you post some pics of your big cats please?

anyone seen Duma, boy and pet movie about a cheetah. It's great. Pua listened intently during the hog attack scene. She was listening to all the other animal noises too but that really got her attention.
