I am becoming highly interested in these snakes and was wondering what info you guys could give me on them. It will be a very long time before i am even able to obtain a permit let alone the snake itself so i am in the early research stages.

In Florida, the Eastern Indigo snake cannot be kept as a pet--it is listed as a threatened species, probably because of too many rednecks killing them off as well as other species of snakes, sorry, had to interject sarcastic humor there. Also, both a Florida Fish and Wildlife permit and a US F&W permit is required to have them in your possession.

I don't know what state you live in, but I would imagine a good place to start is to either contact or view the website of your local Freshwater Fish and Game Commission.

Maybe the burms will thin the redneck population so the indigos can thrive once again.

I know very little about these snakes. I'll do some looking tomorrow see what I can find.

Course being the rednecks are a protected species. It would only make the burms appear more of a menace to the native wildlife.

Haven't been around in ages, but yeah it turns out, that in florida, Indigo snakes can not be kept at all unless for educational purposes.... so unless i open up a wildlife museum (wich i would just get them) i can't have them. sucks -_- but i'm not leaving here so i guess i have to open up a wildlife museum Very Happy
