Is this Pua or Stewie? I love these photos and love watching the videos. Thank you for sharing. My hubby says that he wouldn't know if he would want one, but he sure likes yours and thinks they are special and cute.

cheers,
Raven

Stewie first Pua second. Pua does not do hats.

They are anteaters, tamandua lesser anteaters.

I'm so glad I made that thing

There is also the care sheet but it's in serious need of updating

they are considered delicate keepers and after all I've been trough with Pua I'd agree. You should have a good amount of exotic experience already and even then it can be hard with a wild one. Stewie is easy by comparison but captive born he had a head start on her. The problem is there are not enough people even trying to breed them much less being successful so most still come from the wild.

They now eat a diet of raw ground beef, flax seed, spinach, daily DE, and cider vinegar added. Rotating in extras like cheese, cottage cheese, cooked organ meats or shrimp, to round tings out some. Sometimes adding the cat food recipe to it but less flax. Been on it since late June and thriving. Vet was impressed enough to ask what I was feeding to encourage their weight gain. But when you first get one you may need to feed it whatever it will except then wean it onto a good diet.

They can eat up to a cottage cheese container a night between the two of them. So more than $50 a week, but less if you buy meat in bulk. Will vary in other areas based on local prices for things.

They need to be kept warm. Mine just live in my bed room and their cage is just used for time outs for them or myself. Females cycle monthly and Pua can go nuts some nights due to that phase of her cycle. Not mean at all just over active and way to pesty all night. Stewie is just nuts and into everything.

Contrary to what info online says and consequently what my caresheet says, they are VERY social animals. Pua even suffers from some separation anxiety if I'm away or just not paying her enough attention at her worst. She is much better having Stewie around but can still be that way if I'm gone when she is awake. Stewie is not clingy like that but is an attention Hog and is a bit clingy with Pua. Pua will wake me to find Stewie for her sometimes.

The FAQ and caresheet should help a lot despite it's needing updated.
