Wow, that's a beautiful copper you have there!

On a side note, I have a quick question regarding herpcages.com. I really like the looks of their cages and they're pricing is fairly cheap. However, I was wondering how you heat yours and if you can order the cages with different types of heat sources (heat tape/cable, lights, etc). I didn't see anything about heating listed on the website. Thanks for any info!

Right now I'm not using anything due to my snake room generaly stays around 80 an alil hotter if i don't monator it quickly.
However you can use prety much anything to heat them with. They are compatible with UTH, lamps, heat tape, heat rope all that good stuff. I will evntly use either a lamp or UTH with mine as things cool down. the way the bottomso f the cages are made is so that you have room to apply a uth etc, if you choose to. Seems like i had seen something on their site about it at one point just can't recall were or if i had asked about it in a e-amil to them. In any case I know alot of people now who have ordered from them, an they use all the above depending on what they have in the cage etc. They don't however sell heating scorces though so that you have to do on your own - if thats part of your question to.

Their prices are great on the cages. I paid 55$ each for mine, + 12$ S&h, the locks they install for an extra 15$, an they installed 2 peices that lock in over the screan vent in the top of mine by request for free to secure the screan so that it couldn't accidently come out.
These cages are deffinately worth getting an they are stackable ^_^.

Thanks for the info! I had actually first noticed them watching Al's videos on Youtube and liked the looks of them. I am kind of disappointed though that you can't order them with heat sources because I hate dealing with that separately. I use Animal Plastics cages right now and it's so nice having the heat cable routered into the bottom of the cage.

thats cool i had actualy been outa keep any hot for a while, it wasn;t till probly a a year or 2 ago that i decided i wanted to get back into it. I used to use just Tubs, an Aquariums for my snakes depending on species of course. I've spent more time updating my self on the native species here, tripple checkin our laws here in ga, researching cages i feel more secure with, an tryin to find someone close to me who deals in hots then anything. Thankfuly I discovered Venomusreptiles.org an happened cross Chuck's profile on there which brought me to his site an thus here Very Happy

the seperate heating thing doesn't realy bother me with the herpscages because as i just found out they can prety much do any custom caging you want ^_^ whch realy makes me happy! Very Happy

Ok well they certainly do seem like a great company to deal with so I may have to give them a shot here in the future.

Oh, and one more question. Did you order yours using their "secure online order form" or did you call them? I noticed they still have a really old reminder at the top of their home page so I was wondering if it was still possible to order cages off the website or if you needed to call them.

lol they need to update that lol.

I have used the order form, what i usualy do is take an e-mail them to make sure the cage i want is in stock, or if your wantins oemthing alil diffrent in size fromw hat they have e-mail them with questions etc. Once you know they have it in just fill out the form Very Happy

they are realy great people an usualy can get back to you somewhat quickly so long as they are not busy. An shipping is realy fast! they shiped my cages on monday an i got them the next day.

Nice copperhead, its hard to find the ones that have all the "hourglass pattern" connected on the back. Most you see are broken. As far as Herpcages, they look nice, and priced good, but how do you lock them? Right now all of my cages are built by me, and they all lock.

for an extra 15$ herpcages will install a keylock in the glass i'll see about getting anice closeup of it for yall. They also have the lil tumbscrew locks on each corner of the plexi glass. The top is screan, an had the thumb screws as well, however they took an seured in 2 pecies of a rein like plastic on each side to make sure the screan stays in securely.
