For lack of a better place to post this I chose a active forum so feel free to move it if you deem fit.
I think Ron Paul for president will do us good:
| Quote: |
We must stop special interests from violating property rights and literally driving families from their homes, farms and ranches.
Today, we face a new threat of widespread eminent domain actions as a result of powerful interests who want to build a NAFTA superhighway through the United States from Mexico to Canada.
We also face another danger in regulatory takings: Through excess regulation, governments deprive property owners of significant value and use of their properties — all without paying “just compensation.”
Property rights are the foundation of all rights in a free society. Without the right to own a printing press, for example, freedom of the press becomes meaningless. The next president must get federal agencies out of these schemes to deny property owners their constitutional rights to life, liberty, and property. |
For more info you can look here as I am or try wikipedia:

And according to what I heard when I just called he is for exotic pets or pets in general being legal and remain property and against special interest groups using the federal government to advance their agenda, so if he is president animal rights should reach a dead end with their current plan. _________________

| yes, Ron Paul all the way. Do I think he has a chance in hell? No not really. Majority only vote for either the democrat or the republican and dont give much thought to the others. Also, his stance on abortion is going to set him back. he is pro life. That will lose him a big chunk of votes.

As I understand he doesn't want to use what political power he has to enforce his pro-life views. Second I only know of Obama, Clinton, and Ron Paul. I doubt Obama or Clinton will win, so.... _________________

dont forget julianie (sp)
I think unfortunately Obama has a good chance though I am not keeping up with it. Save us all if Clinton wins.
The president doesnt have alot of say about animal bans anyways, but it would be great to have the influence. Its the senators and congressmen we need to worry about.

AR wants to to use the federal government to make a nation-wide ban, I don't know, but I would think the president would be able to stop them from doing that. Clinton won't win, there is too much she has done that will come out if someone wants to play dirty. _________________

The more I study Ron Paul, the more I like him. I think what we are going to have here is another 'Ross Perot' situation where Ron is going to capture a significnat amount of the votes. A lot of Americans are uncomfortable with his viewpoints, as they rely on governemnt too much. But I think Is peak for the vast majority on this list that we are sick and tired of the growing burden of regulation and special-interest-skewing.
One thing Ron PAul can't easily change, as has been pointed out, is congress. I am afraid that a lot of his good ideas would not go very far, as the congresspeople don't want to give up their little power feifdoms.
Only time will tell. I expect Ron Paul to do real well here in the caucuses next week.
