The Feline Conservation Federation is pleased to announce its next
Wild Feline Husbandry Course is March 15th, 2008 at the Tiger Safari
Zoological Park in Tuttle, Oklahoma. FCF conserves wild felines
through preservation, education and research and teaches its courses
around the country to increase feline handler safety and husbandry
knowledge.
The cost of this 8-hour course is $95.00, and $65.00 for FCF
members. Registration for the March 15th class can be mailed with a
check or credit card information, - send your name and contact info
and payment to FCF Treasurer, 7816 N CR 75 W, Shelburn, IN 47879. You
may also use Paypal to pay online. Send to:
treasurer@felineconservation.org. Be sure to state your payment is
for the Tiger Safari Husbandry Course.
The FCF encourages and welcomes all exotic cat owners and the
interested public alike to take this class at Tiger Safari Zoo. The
zoo is located just 15 minutes south of Oklahoma City. Students will
learn basic health care, nutrition, enclosure designs, behavior
training and contingency planning, helping handlers stay up to date
with current husbandry techniques and safety methods.
Education is the key to safety. The recent shooting of an escaped
Siberian tiger at the San Francisco Zoo is a tragic reminder for all
keepers to periodically review their containment and barrier systems
and their contingency plans for emergencies.
The FCF encourages and welcomes all exotic cat owners, handlers and
others working in the animal fields to take this class at Tiger
Safari Zoo. Students learn subject matter ranging from routine health
care to enclosure design, behavior training and contingency planning.
Following the FCF Husbandry Course, on Sunday March 16 at 10 am, take
a guided talk on park enrichments and husbandry practices that
highlights the tiger, lion, cougar, leopard, serval and bobcat.
Tiger Safari is an FCF Accredited facility providing felines with
large habitats and high-quality enclosures.
FCF is an internationally recognized organization devoted to
responsible captive husbandry. Members are private conservationists
and researchers.
