is there a difference in personalities between male and female anteaters? Do they make sounds? _________________ www.REXANO.org

I can't really say for certain except that females cycle monthly and that can mean their energy levels and levels of sanity can fluctuate a bit. At some points in the month Pua is swinging from the curtains and others she mostly sleeps.
Pua is more loving and cuddly but she is more selective and not really friendly with strangers. Not scared, you just are meaningless to her and she'd rather explore. Though at home when Stewie was being a ham for the USDA inspector she came and begged too just in case there was something good involved.
Stewie is a ham and enjoys any one and gives kisses but he is not a stop and cuddle sort of guy. He is more likely to be up during the day too.
But how much is nature vs nurture? Pua was wild caught, Stewie was captive born. Pua appears to be from the savanna while Stewie's ancestry seems to be from the rain forest, based on many physical factors and observations.
One keeper said her female was more willing to wake up during the day and curious about people and the male more shy and nocturnal. Stewie varies from sleep all day to up an hour to maybe up to 3hrs during the day. I have heard of more easy going males, usually better eaters and less shy but but have heard opposites too so There's not a whole lot to say there is much if any gender difference, at this time. I need to hear from more people, especially pet people and not just keepers
Stewie is more smelly and drips more urine and has more, poop or pee where not meant to issues but he's not been here as long either so that's uncertain too. Pua does get a distinct odor when in heat, best description is an old bologna sandwich. se will sometimes try to, advertise, at certain times of the month and pee were not meant too. It's pretty rare for her though. Stewie is bigger, as I believe most males are.
Sounds is addressed in the FAQ

My experience with animals is the same, males tend to be more relaxed, laid back and also lazy. Well, maybe that can be said about human males too?
